The Fellowship of the String

Well actually, Peter Kingsley is the only bowed string player among us, but others of us play the piano and guitar, sing, peddle the organ or pluck the harp (Bluebell the harp that is) or are generally Hobbity, Elven or Wizardish with the occasional Son of Adam, but thus far there are no members of our number I would typify as Dwarvish or Boromir-like.

This Blog is for social, musical and literary events information around the circle of people from the following groups...

Gatesdene Players. Amateur theatre company run by Hugh Guy Lorriman, based in Clapham but with performances in the Summer at St Richard's School,  Herefordshire.

Literary Lunch - occasional open mic afternoons in Lavender Hill for poets, musicians and other artists. Venue is now Tarragon Persian Bar, run by Kami and Simin.

JCFL - Jesus Christ the Fullness of Life ecumenical prayer group run by Peter Kingsley and Chima. Meetings usually the first Thursday of the Month at 730pm, with a rehearsal beforehand at 630pm. All confident to do so are welcome to come and sing or play. Venue moves around but based in Westminster at Farm Street Church W1 for the next few months.

Bard School - run by the indomitable Sarah de Nordwall, and based for the time being at St Mary of the Angels, Ladbroke Grove, W11.

Co-opera co. Semi Pro Opera company based in London.

The Fellowship of the String also includes the following artists: Lucy Britton, Barnaby Hughes, Louise Tucker, Ann-Marie Ryan Tucker, and members are directly linked to Chantage, Medici Choir, St Ann's Kingston Hill, Holy Trinity Clapham Common, St Mary Magdalene's Wandsworth Common, Voices Inspired, Soulfood, and Taize Prayer at Notre Dame de France, www.annaverey.com bespoke lampshades and Nested Events;

Other people connected via some of the above links are Robert Enoch, Father Dominic White OP, contributers to Tignarius Publications' volume of verse "Heartspeak", including the poets Hubert Tauron, Anna Verey, Helen de Borchgrave.

We are an ecumenical bunch - or should that read eclectic, and if so, should it have 3 or 4 c's?

If anyone would like to post an event for this group please post a comment or contact me.
